How would you describe yourself?: Hi, I’m Lara, I live in Pyatigorsk, Russia, and work as an accountant for a large charity fund. I have a good life here and own my home mortgage free. I had been widowed for 20 years, I was only 28 when I lost my husband. It was a hard time for me, I had to provide for my little daughter and our family. For a long time for me life was about working and raising my daughter. My daughter has turned 22 this year, she graduated from a University and works in hospitality, she has a partner and her own life. I feel my job here is complete and it’s time to start thinking more about myself and what I want the rest of my life to be. I realized I really want to have a partner and if I want to find someone, the time to act is now. In my country it’s really hard to find a good single man over 45, this is why I decided to join this site. What are your goals now?: I am a former professional athlete and I was a part of the junior volleyball team representing Russia. I still can play with young players and beat them even have a video of a game to prove I still have it 😊 Now during pandemics I mostly do some weight exercises at home to stay fit. Pyatigorsk where I live is a famous tourist destination and resort town in the South of Russia. It used to be the place for Russian aristocrats to take vacations during summer, enjoy the famous mineral water from natural springs, take walks and horse rides through nearby mountain ranges.
We have a very famous mountain here, one of the tallest in the world, Mt.Elbrus. It’s visible from most of the locations in town but even better views are from other smaller mountains and hills, and this is what we like to do with my daughter and friends during weekends Take a walk or an easy hike in the mountains, enjoy a picnic and laughter in the company of close friends, looking at the grandiose scenery. It is also a perfect fitness routine, I reckon!
Talking about hobbies, I enjoy dress making and also have a very unusual pursuit: I cross-stitch large murals. They look like paintings from the distance and my friends and family love these as my special gifts. I find this craft work relaxing (my job is rather stressful) and at the same time creative, a chance to give a special present to my special people. Maybe an unusual hobby for an accountant! 😊
I don't sell my murals, but I sell my handmade candles, which is my little business that developed from a hobby. People love the uniqueness and luxurious feel of my candles, and for me it's both pleasure and income.
I also enjoy watching shows and movies, but this would feel so much better cuddling on the sofa with my partner 😊 hope you enjoy movies too, sport shows are also a great pastime.I had to raise my daughter alone, which shaped me to be reliable and resilient. My first education was in the medical field and I worked as a registered medical nurse for two years after the college, so helping people and caring for them is one of the things I am drawn to. Now that I work for a charity fund it’s again about caring and helping, as much as about numbers, which I am responsible for, as the senior accountant. With my late husband we started several businesses, which required entrepreneurship and initiative. I think I have strong business ethics and foundations. In relationships, I am loyal, caring, gentle and loving, as it’s the place for me to relax and enjoy connection, peace and sharing.
